Football season here at Georgia Southern is a great tradition that has always meant a lot to me here during my time at Georgia Southern. Students at other universities are not given the luxury of having a grounded football program or not even have a football program in the first place. To see that this school values football, homecoming, and everything great about football, I can confidently say I am proud to be a Georgia Southern Eagle. GATA

Title:  Perspective on your request for a course override:

This semester I requested an override to enter a must need course. I knew the best way to go about this was in a professional manner. Through discussing the issue with my adviser as well as emailing the professor who would be teaching the class I was able to receive the answers I was looking for. Although I was able to register for the class before an override was needed I understand the importance of going through all the necessary channels to achieve an override into a class.

Title: What’s your blog idea?

Author: Andrews

My Comment:

When I first began this course I wasn’t sure how my blog would come together. My original idea was to express my opinion and input on current situations in the PR field. I believe that this blog will help me connect with the current issues and trends in the PR field and will continue to build my knowledge and gauge my interest of what type of PR I may want to due after graduation.

I also share an interest in Corporate PR. As a former member of COBA, I took a good amount of business classes and enjoyed them until coming to the realization that my true strengths are in Public Relations. I feel the opportunity for advancement and the variety of fields that Corporate PR could offer will be a deciding factor after I graduate.

I agree with you on the not using Pinterest. To me, Pinterest is one of the least productive forms of social media. Although I have never used Pinterest I know people who do and I still dont understand their passion for it. To me, Facebook and Twitter and not only easy to use but also have value in how the world and social media is growing. Maybe one day Pinterest will be worth more to me but as of now, Ill stick to Facebook and Twitter

Title: Week 4 Topic

My Comment:

Through your examples I can see how traditional advertisement is effective. I also believe this works several ways. There are certain events and messages that are best through “word of mouth” while others can be best used through non-traditional advertising. I believe we are in a society that has fused both to the point where it is hard to tell what type works the best.

Title:  Ads Ads EVERYWHERE

My Comment

I believe you are right when it comes to how much advertisement had an effect on our daily lives. We go through each day with seeing hundreds if not a thousand ads. In today’s world advertisement has become a subconscious thought and I dont see this trend letting up any time soon.

First off, I agree with you on the no math, always a plus in this line of work. I feel international PR is a field with great potential. As the world comes closer together, whether it be the social media, economies or other reasons, I feel International PR will continue to be vital for many businesses in the future. Personally I have not looked too much into International PR but it could be something that I may find will have more interest in than I once did.

Title: Topic of the Week #3

Author: Sydney Staffold

My Comment:

Facebook is as well my main social media outlet yet since I signed up for Twitter I found it to be almost more useful than Facebook. I find Twitter easier to connect with the world. Following news outlets or organizations inform me more than watching T.V or scrolling through a Facebook news feed. Twitter has really made an impact on social media and will continue to do so.
